Official Press Release) – Sep 08, 2011 – 4th ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS – 3 NIGHT Divali Celebration in Ft Lauderdale, FL.

The Divali Nagar Inc, a registered non-profit (501-C-3) Organization, will be holding its 4th Annual Divali Celebrations from Friday October 21st – Sunday October 23rd 2011 at the exquisite Coral Springs Sportsplex Park, 2575 Sportsplex Drive, Coral Springs Florida. 33067. “Divali”, “Diwali” or “Deepavali” as it can sometimes be referred to, (the Hindu Festival of Lights) is one of the most celebrated and auspicious occasions of the East Indian community throughout the world. We are anticipating a mixed attendance of multi-ethnic patrons to experience Divali during our 3 day festival and to partake in the great ethnic foods, refreshments, live entertainment, cultural seminars, kids’ workshops and a host of other activities which we have been planning since November of last year. We will culminate the event with a grand cultural display second to none, with ethnic songs, Music, Dance and a fun filled atmosphere of celebratory and harmonious divine activities on Sunday October 23rd from 4pm.

The celebration is open to the public and we have already begun a huge marketing
campaign with the local media as well as the social networks so that we can bring all
groups and facets of our diverse community together in one huge forum. There are several corporate sponsors involved and we are still open to additional sponsorship.  Our goal is to bridge the gap between generations as well as cultural and ethnic borders so that we can further unite the small pockets of various ethnic groups here in our community. Groups from all over the State of Florida as well as Georgia, Texas, New York, Canada and the Caribbean have indicated their willingness to participate. Divali Nagar celebrated in Coral Springs

Those who want to celebrate Divali Nagar, Festival of Lights won’t want to miss the celebration taking place along Sportplex Drive in Coral Springs. The celebration began on October 28 and will run until Saturday night October 30.
About 10,000 people are expected  to celebrate Hindu and Indian  culture.
“We are celebrating the Festival of Lights,” said Neil Persad, the president of  Divali Nagar USA. “We welcome people from all ethnic backgrounds and faiths.”

The Festival of Lights celebrate the removal of evil through light. The event features a wide variety of entertainment, plenty of Indian food, and the chance to learn more about Indian culture. Many people dress in traditional Indian attire. There is a spirit of fun and excitement at the event.

Ram Lelsingh enjoyed the first night. “We are selling pies and everyone and coconut juice and everyone is having  a good time.”
